In Dracula Van Helsing draws his Holy Circle around Mina

I think this is a good example of how the book is “out of time” and how our culture has changed since Dracula was published. Today this seems like a very absurd thing to do Van Heling’s “Seabear circle” I do not think that this circle would really satisfy today’s readers. I do not think that they would be too convinced of its protective powers.
